Standard waiting room chairs are not designed to cope with the additional weight of the bariatric client, leading to the possibility of failure and patient injury. Our specialist bariatric waiting room chair is designed to cope with a patient of up to 400 kg (60 stone), yet does not look out of place in the reception area. This model has a tubular structure with black hammered epoxy coating. The chair covering is impermeable to aid with infection control.

The armrests are constructed so they go beyond the seat, making it easy to get a good grip. The armrests bend out like a butterfly so the body doesn't get squeezed. As the correct height is very important for a bariatric user, the height is adjustable from 42cm to 55cm. Similarly, the seat depth can be critical. This seat is designed to be individually adjusted to provide a comfortable seating. The backrest can be moved +/- 6cm and the bended tubing ensures that the correct position can be found. For ease of moving, we have used high-tech, lightweight tubing to provide the highest strength at the lowest weight.
