When you are less than able-bodied, it is important that any chair you use fits you correctly. Our chairs are made specially for us by the leading UK and international manufacturers. Most are available in a range of fabrics and in certain cases, we can make matching bed-frames. Material by the yard is readily available should you wish to make matching curtains, throws, etc. Our range of adjustable seating includes both manual and electric rising and reclining chairs, while our non-adjustable seating includes both fireside chairs and sofas. There are literally hundreds of different designs of rise and recline chairs, and the photographs below show just a small selection of those that we have in stock for immediate delivery, or which we can supply to order to your particular specification. We are happy to visit your home with two or three chairs, but you will get a far better choice if you can visit our showroom which has over 30 different riser chairs on display, with hundreds of fabric options. Most chairs are fitted with a battery back-up system in case of mains failure. This system requires two PP3 type batteries which are not supplied. Please replace these annually, or immediately after they have been used.
Dual Motor Our dual motor chairs offer the end user the ability to control the backrest and footrest independently, thus allowing the user to find the most suitable position for their individual requirements. This includes an almost horizontal position which enables a comfortable sleeping position to be achieved. The chair will also lift and gently tilt forward to aid the user out of the chair. The dual motor chair is ideal for clients who may suffer from poor circulation, rheumatism, arthritis, MS, and other mobility restriction. Wall Hugger. 1st Call Mobility offer the riser/recliner wall hugger as our standard production chair instead of the 3– way mechanism. It has similar functions in that the user can have the chair in the TV position, and then move on into recline by continuing to press one of the control buttons. The chair will also lift and gently tilt forward to aid the user out of the chair. The one big advantage of the wall-hugger is that you do not need to ensure that you have approximately 18 inches of clearance behind the chair, as this chair reclines on itself. This requires a minimal 3-6 inches of clearance, which gives more room in the immediate area around the wall-hugger.
